Oil exploration in the Atlantic Frontier

Atlanic Frontier - oil exploration and wildlife
The UK Government is allowing oil industry vandalism of the Atlantic Ocean to the west of Scotland. This spring, oil companies plan to drill three wells in these waters - the most important in Europe for rare whales and coral reefs
This oil drilling is a double whammy - it hits the wildlife when the oil is extracted and it
punishes us all when it exacerbates global warming. If we are to avoid extreme weather events,
like the floods we have seen in Mozambique, the Government must stop licensing for new oil
and start licensing for offshore renewable energy.
Offshore wind and wave power can not only generate all the UK's electricity needs, these
industries can generate far more jobs that Atlantic Frontier oil drilling. The Government should
start licensing offshore wind and wave power, not new oil licensing.
